On the show, America’s Got Talent, the finale had 11 acts that were quite impressive. All of the contestants deserved to win Season 18 of AGT, but only one did. A man and his dog beat out a comedian, a magician, 2 incredible soloists, several singing groups, dance groups, and two men who could balance each other in extreme feats. It was quite a surprise to see Adrian and Hurricane take first place, but you know, anything is possible when God is in charge.
I see this trivial TV show as an example to never give up. God always has His hand on every movement you make, even those on a TV show. You never know what God is going to do! So, whatever circumstances you find yourself in, do not quit! Don’t give up! You might be on the cusp of God moving you to better things. He is actually, He is helping you to arrive in heaven one day. The greatest blessing God gives to each of His children is eternal life.
You and I are a bit narrow-minded. We can only see what is right in front of us in the present moment. But with God, He can see everything. When you ask Him to lead you, He does. When you ask Him for clarity and understanding, He gives it. When you surrender your expectations over to Jesus, He steps in and moves mightily within you. You are able to move past what things look like from your viewpoint and allow God to give you wisdom from His vantage point.
What are you facing today? Do not give up for God knows what you are facing and He will help you to align yourself up with His will for you. Isaiah 41:10 has been a verse that God has used to keep me going in hard times. “Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, and I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
It is good to remember Paul’s words in Philippians 4:12-13, “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.” You can be totally certain that God is working on your behalf for His glory.
The 11 acts vying for the prize on AGT had to place themselves in America’s hands for voting. Despite the voting process, God has control over who won. He has control over every sports game played. He has control over every elected official in public office. God has His hand over all things on this earth. He has His hand upon your life, whether you recognize it or not.
Your name, for instance, is from God. God led your mom and dad in naming you. If my son was a girl, she would have been Rachel. When my daughter was born, we didn’t call her Rachel. That name didn’t fit her, but Katie did. God wanted our son to be Alex and our daughter to be Katie. Your name is special for it came from God.
“Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait upon the Lord!” (Psalm 31:24) “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9) “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” (Romans 12:12) “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12) You can count on God to take care of you.
Do not quit now my friend. God is with you and He knows your comings, your goings, your thoughts, and hears your prayers. He understands what your heart longs for and what your soul needs as you face your day. Keep the faith for God never gives up on you.
