Do you realize just how much you are loved and cared for? On this side of heaven, it is impossible to fully understand the depth of God’s love that is bestowed on you. Yet, you have it simply because you are His creation and He loves you perfectly.
Each and every day God is actively showing you His love. He promises to love and care for you and every other person that walks on earth. There is never a moment where He forgets you, or casts you aside to tend to something more important. You are important.
In the Old Testament, you get a sneak peek into God’s everlasting promise to you. Read 2 Samuel 9 and see God’s love being lived out through King David. He became the king of Israel and Judah, and he is a great example of the love of Christ.
Before David became king, he faced great adversity from King Saul, his predecessor. Saul was like the enemy who wanted to end David’s life; read 1 Samuel. You have an enemy who wants to disrupt your life so you will be unable to become what God is calling you to be. God had called Saul to the position of king, and He was appointing David to be next. Saul struggled with the reality that he was replaceable. He didn’t let God lead him in all things. Yet, David remained loyal to the promise that God had for him. He maintained the right heart posture where God and His ways were lived out no matter the circumstances he faced. You see this in this passage of scripture.
While Saul became a nemesis for David, Saul’s son, Jonathan, became a close friend to David. Saul and most of his family had now passed on, including Jonathan, and David wanted to honor the promise he had made to Jonathan; read 1 Samuel 20:14-15. David sought out who was still alive from Saul’s family. It so happens to be Jonathan’s one son, Meph (I shortened his name).
Meph was crippled in both feet. David sent for Meph. When Meph arrived, how he was treated exemplifies the love of God upon you. David was giving Meph property that belonged to his grandpa, the king. Not only that, Meph was now going to dine at the king’s table on a regular basis! David treated Meph like he was one of his own sons.
Can you see the similarities? Because of sin, you are crippled. Yet, God seeks you in your dire state and desires for you to bring yourself into His presence. You don’t need someone to do it for you. You can come, blind, deaf, and crippled, and He will give you what He owns and seat you at His table. It is a promise that you can count on!
God gives all of Himself to you as you feast in His presence!
Allow God to deepen your faith in Him. The deeper you go, the more clearer His promise for you becomes. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, in this world that holds a candle to God’s love for you and what He promises when you put Jesus Christ first in your life.

While David wasn’t perfect, God’s love was. While you are not perfect, God’s love for you is. Put God first and see what He will do for you. You can depend on God.
*While I took a break last week and enjoyed my son and his family, I am taking another break to spend time with more family. Continue to feast upon God and His Word.
