Next week, you and I have the honor and privilege of celebrating one of the greatest events ever! This event is two-fold. You will miss its importance if you just see Christmas and not attach Easter to it. Christmas and Easter go hand-in-hand.

In the book of Colossians, Paul shares how the two cannot be separated. Look at Colossians 1:15-22, “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through Him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see; such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him.”
“He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together.”
“Christ is also the head of the Church, which is His body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So, He is first in everything. For God in all His fulness was pleased to live in Christ, and through Him God reconciled everything to Himself.”
“He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”
“This includes you who were once far away from God. You were His enemies, separated from Him by your evil thoughts and actions (sin). Yet, now He has reconciled you to Himself through the death of Christ in His physical body.”
“As a result, He has brought you into His own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before Him without a single fault.”
This is the Good News that we are celebrating. The wonderful thing about this Good News is that we are to celebrate it every day! Look at Colossians 1:23, “You must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away (by swimming back to shore) from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world.”
A couple weeks ago in my blog titled, “God Is Waiting To Be Found”, I challenged people to go deeper into the water where you have to trust God. God is calling you to walk in faith, and He gives you the assurance that He is the real deal. He is who He says He is.
Think about this, what god would send his only son down to this wretched earth and don a fleshy suit only to die 33 years later in hopes that man would follow him to a better place? What god would do that?
The God of Heaven would for He is The Living God!
The God that created mankind continued to do what He had to do. He sent His only Son down to this wretched earth and don a fleshy suit to die in your place. For what reason? Because He loves you, even in your sins. He will continue to love you even if you reject His Son. He will be grieved by this, but His love for you will never change.
This is Good News.

Hear ye hear ye! Look up and see. Go ahead and run into the water with your head held high for Jesus washes away your sins as you swim deeper and deeper with Him! He will take a hold of your hand and never let go.
He is worth seeking, just as the shepherds and wise men did back when Jesus was born.
