In my new book, “God Hears My Heart,” I explain how God relentlessly pursues you. His love goes beyond anything you can fathom for yourself. Human love is limited and conditional, while God’s love is boundless and unconditional. As God pursues you, He is wanting something in return. What He is waiting for is a willing heart.

When you look up at God, and are willing to turn around to see a new perspective on life, God steps in to help you. He never pauses to think about wanting to help you. He never ponders your mistakes and decides if you are worthy of His salvation. He simply says you are.
A willing heart to change gives God the go ahead to “cleanse you from all unrighteousness,” see 1 John 1:9.
Isaiah tells you what happens when you come to the decision to accept God’s plan for your life. In Isaiah 29:18-19, “In that day, the deaf will hear the words read from a book, and the blind will see through the gloom and darkness. The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord. The poor will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.”
Notice what God does for you:
- God opens your mind to the things of God. Your hearing will be fine-tuned towards the truths from His Word. The Holy Spirit will give you discernment on what you are reading and you will have the ability to apply the scriptures to your life. He connects you to God in an intimate way.
- God gives you 2020 vision. You will be able to separate what is worldly versus what is godly; what is temporal versus eternal. The world reveals how it is full of doom and gloom; it is unpredictable. Look at how many Texans are struggling because of snow and ice. It is also evident that we live in a dark world where evil is running amok. It has been since Adam and Eve left the Garden.
- God softens your heart when Christ enters it. A humbling takes place when the Savior of the world takes up residence. Jesus restructures your heart so you are filled with Him. Life becomes about loving God and those around you. When you accept Christ and His ways, God fills you with joy. Notice what verse 19 says, “filled with fresh joy from the Lord.”
- God helps you to remove the frivolous things that fill up your time and energy. He refocuses you on eternal things, like the relationship you have with Him, as well as with others. You become poor in self, not in a belittling way but having a healthy mindset where you put others before yourself for you know God will meet all your needs.
We have entered into the most perfect season to awaken our sleepy hearts. Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. It began the 40 days before Easter where Jesus does the unthinkable for you and me. It is called Lent. It is a time for reflection and confession, a time to prepare your heart to celebrate the most pivotal event that changed the course of history.
Jesus dies on your behalf to save you from sin.
For many, this truth just passes on by, so familiar and redundant. Have your eyes and ears become dulled by this transformational truth? Do you take it for granted? If you are quick to answer no, you probably are in need of a wake-up call. God did not send His Son to die for you, just so you can keep living life on your terms. God has a wide road for people like this, see Matthew 7:13-14.
For those who keep their attention on God, He covers you with Himself. He clothes you with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, see Colossians 3:12. The Spirit will produce these things in you along with love, joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control, see Galatians 5:22. Colossians 2:9-10 explains who we are, “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So, you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”
What would God want for you to reflect on, to confess, in preparation for Easter? Is there any unwillingness lurking in your heart? Are you someone who is not sure what this all means?
I have some help for you. My book will help answer these kinds of questions. God has taught me how to have a willing heart. Through the years, He has shown me who He is, along with understanding who I am, and how we are to walk hand-in-hand through life. He has never left my side.

My friend, He wants to teach you too. To get started, feel free to be one of the first to receive a copy of my book and begin the journey where God will take you beyond your wildest dreams. Check out the link below to reserve a copy:
During this wonderful preparation season, give God a chance. God is crazy about you. He patiently waits for you to stop what you are doing, look up, and have a willing heart to do life differently. He promises that you will not be sorry for choosing Him.
