Love could be explained as wanting the best for someone, and that’s exactly what God intends for you. God loves you simply because He loves you. You don’t have to work for His affection. You don’t have to set yourself straight before God can pour out His love over you. God absolutely loves you. It’s hard to get your mind around that, but its true.
“This is where the faith journey starts: understanding that God loves you. If you do not have the assurance of God’s love, your faith journey will not last long. Fortunately, reading the Bible can help strengthen your faith in God’s love. There is no force more powerful than the love your heavenly Father has for you. HIs love can move mountains, stop the roaring seas, heal the broken bones and wounded hearts, transform lives, and set free those held captive by sin and shame. So great is His love for you that He sent His only Son to die that you might live through Him.”
What needs to happen for you to know, without a shadow of a doubt, that the The Lord’s love is not a fairy tale? There are many examples of love, but none of them can compare to the love that God has for you. You may be married to the most wonderful spouse. You may parent the most amazing children. You have loving parents or kind-hearted friends. Yet, they don’t even come close to the love that God has for you. Even with your earthly relationships, the love of God surpasses them all!
His love is perfect, while earthly love is not.
God fully understands this dilemma that you find yourself in. Even in your best efforts, you will fall short of loving like God does. You can search the world over, and you will never find the most perfect, wonderful love that God so graciously gives to those who desire to be with Him. God gives of Himself every moment of every day for you. He is able to meet every need that you have. There is no one else who can do that, no matter how hard they try. This is why you need God. You need to believe that the love that He has for you is real, and not some fairy tale that Hollywood tried to make up.
God’s greatest example of revealing true love is with His Son. God did not have to, and He had every right to withhold Jesus from us. You and I deserve to be separated from the Trinity; banished from all things good and holy. We chose to sin, yet God sent Jesus to be The Liberator from the penalty of our sins.
Why would God do that? Because His love is real, authentic, and life-changing.
If you choose to believe God the Father, and receive His love that comes from God the Son, and follow and obey God the Holy Spirit in repentance, you will experience the powerful love of God! You will know, I mean deeply know, the depth of God’s love. It will become that real to you.

Lord, your love is not a fairy tale. It is so much more than that. May you and I put aside our doubts, fears, sinful desires, selfish ways, and anything that hinders His love, and with reckless abandonment live fully in God’s most amazing, most wonderful, most incredible love. Life won’t be the same.
