One day there will be the most joyful sounds coming out of heaven. Can you imagine it? A day is coming when sin will be removed forever more! God gives you a sneak peak into what that day will look like in Revelation 19:1-10.

God gave John opportunity to see what lies ahead for His creation in the book of Revelation. By the time you get to chapter 19, there is a wave of celebration over Christ’s victory over sin. John saw vast crowds in heaven shouting, “Praise the Lord! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God. His judgments are true and just. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the murder of His servants.”1,2
It is day where believers can rejoice over sin getting what it deserves.
A lot of praising and singing will ring out in the heavens on that glorious day of the Lord. Read through this passage and picture the scene: sheer joy, relief, and exhilaration over the greatest victory ever given to man.
Notice what John heard in verses 6-7, “What sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder: ‘Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to Him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and His bride has prepared herself. ‘”
God’s holy people will be united in love.
“His bride has prepared herself.” Every believer must be about preparing herself or himself for this glorious day. May I ask, how are you preparing yourself today?
An angel tells John to write this down: “Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.”9 To receive such an honorable invite, you must follow God’s protocol. If He is righteous, you are to be righteous. If He is holy, you are to be too. If He is love, you are to be loving. If He is merciful, you are to follow suit. If He says you are a sinner, then you must follow His ways to becoming redeemed. If He forgives, you must too. So, how do you live out these noble attributes? You need God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. You cannot carry out the ways of Christ on your own. Sin is too great within a human soul.
John was in awe over what He was seeing and hearing that he fell at the feet of the angel to worship him. Notice what he was told in verse 10, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus.
“Worship only God.”
This is important to know and live out. You are called believe God the Father, receive the blood of the Lamb who is Jesus Christ, and follow and walk in obedience in the Holy Spirit. When you walk in step with the Trinity, you will be God-focused rather than self-focused. God will be faithful in helping you to separate yourself from worldly ways and learn to love and worship God first.
John ends this passage with why you and I are called to worship only God. We are “to give a clear witness for Jesus.”10 Our lives are to show others Jesus Christ. A grand celebration will take place one day.
So, what needs to be worked on in your life so you can one day experience that glorious day?
