One quiet Voice

What is vying for your attention? Is it mountains of laundry, a crying child, a disgruntled boss, a car that won’t start, or how about that pain deep inside that won’t go away? Your days are filled with a plethora of voices calling out for attention, but you struggle with which voice to listen to first. Life can become so burdensome, so stress-filled, and you wonder how you will have the strength to do it all.

How about in your thoughts? With so many voices clamoring for attention, how do you discern who to listen to and who not to? You have carnal thoughts and if you have received Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have one quiet voice that hopes you will give it attention over all the other voices.

This one quiet voice can change the trajectory of your mindset and your day (as well as your whole life) when given the chance to lead your daily activities. This quiet voice is the Holy Spirit, and He will lead you to victory over any and all carnal thoughts and ways. He will help you to let go of you as you embrace more of Christ.

John 14:26 ESV speaks of the Holy Spirit. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring you into remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 16:13 ESV says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.” In John 6:63 ESV, it says, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.”

Listening to that one quiet voice will quiet your soul. Obeying that one quiet voice will reveal the deep love you have for your heavenly Father. Look at what the Lord will do for those who trust and obey, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.” (Psalm 91:14-16)

Take the time to hear and respond to that one quiet voice and see what He will do for you. The greatest perk of having the Spirit is He will reduce the chaos in your day. Your day will become orderly and it’s like He stretches your hours. You will be productive without the burnout. Life takes on purpose with eternal meaning.

Listen in and learn.
