When you seek the Lord, He reveals Himself to you. God takes you on a wonderful journey of discovering not only His undivided attention towards you, but the value that He places on you because you want to follow His Son Jesus Christ.
You are important. So much so, that God lifts you out of the muck and mire of your sins and causes quite a change to take place. You become a new creation; see 2 Corinthians 5:17. You have important work to do for His kingdom; see Ephesians 2:10. You are not guilty from your sins any longer; see Romans 8:1. You become a child of God; see John 1:12. You are a friend of God; see John 15:15. You are capable of accomplishing His will; see Philippians 4:13. All your needs will be provided for; see Philippians 4:19.
Read Isaiah 49 and catch a glimpse of God’s wonderful redemption process. The author reveals who Jesus is, and those who choose to be changed by Him become a part of God’s important work. Thus, you become important to God.
Looking at the first seven verses, you get a clear image of what you have in Christ. Jesus calls out to those who are far away (from God), “Listen to Me. Pay attention.”1 Awaken yourself to what God is doing in you. Why? Because God placed within His Son words of judgment while being protected by God hand. “I am like a sharp arrow in (God’s) quiver.”2 Jesus served His Father and you are called to serve Christ. You are to bring God glory through the important work that God has for you.
Even when your work for the Lord seems useless, you can trust God and know that He will bring good from all your efforts; see verse 4. Often times, you serve the Lord and you don’t understand how God is using you. That’s okay. God does not waste any work being done for His kingdom. It’s all important to Him.
In verses 5-6, look at what God did for Jesus. He will do the same for you. Jesus was formed in Mary’s womb. You were formed in your mother’s womb to serve the Lord. God commissioned Jesus, and He commissions you as well. God honors you and will give the strength you need to do your important work. God makes you a light to those who are still plagued by sin. You are called to bring salvation to them.
Although the world refuses to acknowledge the lordship of Jesus Christ, God has made Jesus the cornerstone of humanity. Simply because Jesus was chosen by God to save the world, and He chooses you to be apart of His redemptive process. Finish studying the rest of Isaiah 49 and see what else you can learn about the the important work that God would like you to do.

Are you seeing how important you are to God? Is there anything that God needs to change within you that will aid in you walking whole-heartedly with Jesus? Jesus abided in God 24/7. He let God dictate every action and decision. You are called to live in the same manner.
God loves you and He wants you to be a part of His Kingdom forever and ever. Believe in who God says you are when you follow His Son and be about God’s important work each day.
