The Right Kind Of Wisdom

Life is full of uncertainty, and this causes anxiety on all levels. Everyone toils each day with work, cleaning, meals, laundry, bill paying, etc. You could say that every day life is somewhat boring, and we so desire to make it fun. So much so, that we lose focus on what God desires for us and we pursue worldly happiness over godly joy and peace.

We pursue the perfect job or the perfect spouse or the perfect place to live. We place God on the back burner and put our own desires first. It’s like living in a Cinderella world. We go where we want to go and do what we want to do. This kind of pursuit is not the right kind of wisdom.

Look at the quote from Never Forgotten Always Loved by DaySpring, November 12, “God’s wisdom is not only different than the world’s, but it is past finding out. God gives His wisdom to those who fear Him and to those who ask in faith. The wise see life through God’s eyes, think His thoughts, and know His ways. The blessing of God’s wisdom keeps you from foolish ways and wrong choices. The wisdom of God seeks peaceful paths and causes you to live with eternity’s values in view. His wisdom is more precious than gold and sweeter than honey from the comb. It is sure and trustworthy, pure and radiant, perfect and right. Following His wisdom brings great reward.”

God’s wisdom brings fulfillment in your life. Peace, contentment, and joy will find their way into your soul as you follow Jesus. Notice what you gain when you follow Him first as you relinquish your wants and desires and allow God to fill you up: 1. You will live differently than the world. You will think differently. God will make Himself known to you in deep and profound ways. Just ask in faith and believe the Almighty God who desires to save you! 2. You will view life through God’s Word and how the Holy Spirit leads. Your life belongs to God. 3. Living obediently to God’s ways protects you from wrong choices that lead you away from God. 4. God’s wisdom will keep you focused on eternal things. The things in this world are going to pass away, but not the things of God. 5. God’s wisdom is the way to abundant living. God is what you are truly seeking. When you do, all else falls into place.

Let God speak to you from these verses:

Proverbs 1:7 says, “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”

2 Peter 3:17-18 says, “I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

You read in James 3:13-18 about the true wisdom that comes from God, “If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.”

The Bible is your source of wisdom. You will meet Jesus within its pages.

Learn the art of abiding in Jesus and God’s wisdom will penetrate every part of your being. You won’t regret discovering what your soul is craving.
