I have had a dream since I was a young adult. An obscure dream, I might add. Within my heart and soul, I sensed I was going to do something big. I didn’t understand what big meant. All I knew was that I was destined to do something, something that was beyond me.
Now, 30+ years later, I believe that this dream is going to come to fruition. As the years have gone by and I have reached the empty-nesting stage of my life, God led me to write my story. I did not jump into writing right away. I balked at God and gave Him every excuse why my story is not worth telling. “You know God, I am rather boring. I am creative in art and design but not in writing. A letter here and there is one thing, but a book? I do not know how to do that.”
“Carol, you are exactly where I want you.”
Through the years, I have learned to trust God. He has been found faithful by me for I could not deny His voice within me. Since the Holy Spirit has become my best friend, I surrendered and allowed God to lead me down an unfamiliar road. This was four-and-a-half years ago where God led me by a flashlight in the dark.
Over 53,000 words later and many edits, my story is morphing into a book called, “God Hears My Heart.” It will be be published in the Spring of 2021 if all goes well. I have not received a time-line for the launch so don’t quote me on this time frame.
Here’s a sneak peak into my book: “While I don’t have formal training in theology, I write from everyday life. I simply chose to look up with a willing heart, to hear and see something beyond myself. What I discovered is that there is a God, the One and only God, that answered me beyond my wildest dreams. May my journey help you to find God in your own deep and transforming way.”
My heart’s desire is for every person to come to know the faithful, enduring love of God. He has taught me that He is crazy for me, and He can’t stop thinking about me. He never leaves my side, and He has plans for me that go beyond my wildest dreams!
My friend, He wants you to know without a shadow of a doubt that He is crazy about you. He can’t stop thinking about you either. He is always with you, and He, too, has amazing plans for your life. His plans will go beyond what you can comprehend.
When you and I follow Jesus, God elevates us to a place of serenity and unconditional love as He gives our feet a secure foundation to stand on. We become strong. We can take on any circumstance that life throws at us for we know that God is with us.
Following Jesus emboldens our hope. He fuels our hearts to keep us going for we know what lies ahead, eternity in the very presence of the Living God. When we focus on what we have in the heavenly realms, our earthly circumstances become puny in light of God’s Presence.
God’s Presence changes everything.
Get excited! God is on the move in your life. If all God gives you is a flashlight to see, may I encourage you to give the Lover of your soul a chance. You will find Him to be faithful and trustworthy. He wants you to become enamored by Him, just as He is with you.
Trusting God changes everything.
What dream is lurking in your soul? Let God birth it out of you. Soon, my book will be out for all to read. That’s scary for I don’t know how people will receive it. I do not know the outcome of what God has planned for it. The past 4+ years have been daunting, to say the least. It has stretched me way more than I care to realize. Despite the hardships that come along with any dream, to see the finish line has invigorated me! I am humbled and at awe in how God has got me to the end, which I have a feeling is the beginning of a new season.
God, my story is your story, and it is beautiful.
I can’t wait for everyone to read it, so be inspired to look up and see what God has for you. I can tell you already, it is beautiful.
