It is hard to grasp the fullness of God. Our finite minds cannot take in all that encompasses our Creator. To seek Him seems daunting if not impossible. Who can fathom something so big and vast? How can God relate to each one of us in a personal way?
I have wonderful news for you! Despite the fact that in your finite mind you will never fully comprehend God, He will meet you right where you are knowing every detail about you. Luke 12:7 reveals this fact. “The very hairs on your head are all numbered.” Look at Jeremiah 1:5, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.” God goes beyond what you believe to be personal and close.
God meets you deep within your heart.
In my upcoming book, “God Hears My Heart,” I share how God revealed just how close He is with me. Take a peek, “I read out loud Isaiah 41:10. Something was different in that moment, I was not alone in the room. I wasn’t simply reading words on a page from a book either. I was in the presence of Christ. I felt His presence behind me. Jesus placed His hands on my shoulders, leaned down and spoke His words to me. He read to me instead of me reading to myself.”
That was a pivotal moment in my faith. God opened my heart to see that He doesn’t simply watch from above and step in when He needs to. Nope. God showed me that He is with me. I am never alone to battle life on my own. Understanding this changed me. I understood that there was more, way more, that I needed to know.
This moment helped me to understand that the Bible is not a book of words, like every other book written. Nope. It is living and active and made to change every heart. My heart needed changing, and Jesus was right there to say, “Carol, I am here. Take my hand and follow Me. I will lead you from this day forward.”
In my last blog, I shared how God leads you. “Following Jesus emboldens your hope. He fuels your heart to keep you going, moving forward, for you know what lies ahead, eternity in the presence of the Living God. When we focus on what we have in the heavenly realms, our earthly circumstances become puny in light of God’s Presence.” (Beyond My Wildest Dreams blog)
This is how I have remained committed to my husband. I have raised children who love God and others. I am able to mentor young mothers, and help countless women to fall in love with Jesus by coming alongside them and studying the Bible. This is why I reach out and help others. Jesus encourages me and meets my needs, so in return, I share with those around me the love that He shown me. In John 15:12, Jesus tells us, “This is My commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
When you come to the undeniable place where God convinces you that He is there, your life takes on a whole new trajectory. Your life becomes centered on Christ and His Word. As you study the Bible, God’s guide book to abundant, successful living, your thoughts and attitudes begin to align with Truth. Your heart becomes compassionate and tender. You become an image-bearer to the King of Kings.
God has remained faithful with Isaiah 41:10 in my life. You could say it has been my life verse. Now that I have reached the latter years, God has given me 1 Peter 5:10, “In His kindness, God called you to share His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So, after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen you and He will place you on a firm foundation.”
Whatever God has in store for me, I know that He is with me. Jesus is my firm foundation on which I stand.
Know, my friend, that God is closer than you think. Look up and see for He is waiting for you.
