Whether you can see Him or not, God is moving amongst us. There is never a moment in time where He is not. He is an active God that knows how to keep His world in order and moving forward to its destination.
While it may not look like He is doing a good job by how the world is going, He has been on the move, He is currently on the move, and He will never stop being on the move until His plan of redemption comes to fruition.

God is actively working in the hearts of over 8 billion people who currently inhabit the earth. What is He doing in each heart? He is helping you and I to come to see Him, believe Him, and trust Him. When a heart decides to see God, a powerful shift takes place. Look at the amplified version of Philippians 3:10-11 to see what happens within a sinful heart that chooses to look up and see.
“And this, so that I may know Him (experientially, becoming more thoroughly acquainted with Him, understanding the remarkable wonders of His person more completely) and (in the same way experience) the POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION (which overflows and is active in believers), and (that I may share) the fellowship of His sufferings, by being continually transformed (inwardly into His likeness even) to His death (dying as He did); so that I may attain to the resurrection (that will raise me) from dead.”
This is why God is on the move 24/7/365.
Think about how your day is going. How about yesterday or last week? How are you seeing God move? Every little detail of what you see (or can’t see), no matter how small or insignificant, is God calling you to Himself. Every big detail, whether life-threatening or rewarding, is God calling you to Himself. God uses all our moments for His glory.
When you see God move, how does He want you to respond? Yes, with thankfulness. Yes, with gratitude. Yet, He wants something more. He wants you. He wants you to let Him change the posture of your heart. He wants to take you from life being about you to life being about Him. A shift in power will take place in your heart. Day-by-day, moment-by-moment, God will teach you how to let Jesus sit on the throne in your heart. He will help you, by the Holy Spirit, to keep Jesus in His rightful position.
When a person sees God, and is thankful for what He is doing, yet doesn’t allow God to make that transforming shift of power happen, a person remains the same and God cannot move any farther.
God is not moving among you to simply show off. He is purposeful in every movement He makes. Every one of His movements is to bring you to your salvation. What does God’s salvation look like? Look at Psalm 51:17, “The sacrifice You desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.” Isaiah 66:2 says, “My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at My word.”
Whether you see God moving or you are wondering where He is, know that God is there. He has His hand on everything. Even in the darkness, He is there. He is the Light that shines in the darkness (see John 8:12), as well as having authority over evil (see 1 John 3:8). While today may seem bleak, know that God is actively working to help you to see Him. One day it won’t be bleak anymore. There is a rising of His Son that will come to make things right.
Respond to the God that is moving around you. He wants to take you on the journey of a lifetime that ends with the greatest redemption story every given to man. Look up and see.
