You Bring Joy To God

It was November 17, 2018. At my son’s wedding, we had our mother and son dance. The sheer joy upon his face as we danced around the floor gave me such peace and joy in understanding how my son felt. All that mattered in that moment was seeing my son be the happiest that he could ever be. While swaying to the music, I had forgotten the crowd of people surrounding us, I was enamored over the demeanor of my son. I didn’t even hear the words to the song, I was so drawn into that special moment.

As I love to recall that time, the Lord has helped me to see the sheer joy that is upon His face when we are together, just the two of us. There are no words to truly describe such a pure, complete, and redeeming love that God has for me. God feels sheer joy when I desire to be in His presence. When I choose to follow His beloved Son and learn to hear from the Holy Spirit, the intimacy between my Heavenly Father and I is truly beyond words.

There is no better company than with God. Read Luke 10:38-42 and see what Jesus has to say about the importance of spending time with Him. Everyone battles all the chores of earthy life, but Jesus tells of what is the most important.

Look at the lyrics to “Could I Have This Dance” sung by Anne Murray, “I’ll always remember the song they were playing. The first time we danced and I knew. As we swayed to the music, and held to each other, I fell in love with you. Could I have this dance for the rest of my life? Could you be my partner every night? When we’re together it feels so right. Could I have this dance for the rest of my life?” (by azlyrics.com) Go ahead and listen to the song in its entirety and allow God to move you close to Himself.

God’s most treasured thing is for you to choose to get to know Him. He fell in love with you even before He created you within your mother’s womb. Now, He wants you to fall in love with Him. God initiated the courting by the giving of His Son; read John 3:16-17. Then Jesus does the most wonderful thing ever, “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” (Revelation 3:20)

Becoming best friends with God the Father through God the Son while you listen and obey God the Holy Spirit will bring sheer joy upon God’s face. He is worthy of your time to pursue Him. He is most trustworthy thing you can trust and rely on. Walking with God aids in you being in the right place at the right time. You become His light in this dark world, and your light will take you into eternity with the Trinity.

You make the Lord happy when you desire to spend time with Him.

Choose today whom you will serve; read Joshua 24:14-27.
