Are you heavenly minded? God is calling you to grow into His likeness so that you react to life with Him in mind first. He is leading you to a place where all of the decisions you make are filtered through the Holy Spirit. Look at the following quote from Never Forgotten Always Loved by Day Spring, “You can impart two types of blessings to others. One is spiritual, the other is material. Both are important. God wants all of His people to be so heavenly minded that they truly are of earthly good. Through spiritual blessings, you extend God’s heart to others. Through material blessings, you extend His hand. Spiritual blessings reveal His heart while material blessings reveal His compassion. Spiritual blessings meet the needs of time and eternity. Material blessings meet the needs of today.”
When you live with one focal point for an audience of One, you become a catalyst that accomplishes great things. Focusing on God gives you a platform to stand on, a purpose for all your days, as He calls you forth each day to continue to do the work that the prophets, disciples, and Jesus began in the Bible. You and I are to continue God’s work in the timeframe He has allotted to us.
Whether your platform speaks to one person or a thousand, if it’s for God’s glory it will flourish according to heavenly standards. Colossians 3:2 ESV says, “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Jesus is returning to restore the heavens and the earth. This world is coming to an end and God desires for no one to perish along with Satan and his demons; see 2 Peter 3:9.
Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” This world belongs to Satan; see 2 Corinthians 4:4. And every believer is to set himself apart from this dark world and cling to Jesus. He is the One focal point that will lead us away from sin and darkness.
What grabs your attention in the morning? How about at noontime or dinner? What do you think about before bed or if you awaken in the middle of the night? How strong is the world’s influence upon you? Remind yourself by reading in the Bible how Jesus called His disciples to follow Him. What were they doing before He called them? How did His presence change them?
Every true believer of God learns how to believe God, not just believe in God. Every true believer learns to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. They have learned the art of abiding in Him 24/7. And every true believer has developed the art of obeying the Holy Spirit. Obedience is key in living with one focal point.

Back in the 1970’s, American Express had a motto, “Don’t leave home without it.” God has a motto that has been consistent since Adam and Eve left the Garden due to rebellion and sin, “Don’t live without Me or My Son, or My Spirit for any reason or any time!” This motto is not verbatim from the God’s Word but it does reflect His love story that is found within the pages of 66 books that make up the Bible.
May you continue to deepen your focus on the One true King. His presence changes everything.
