Trust seems to be God’s protocol for His children. He beckons you to trust Him before you see the reason behind what He is asking of you. He calls you to put your faith in Him before you understand what He is doing in you and around you.
In the Old Testament, God led Abraham to a deep state of trust. God told him of his future way before he saw the fruition from it. God closed Abraham’s wife’s womb. They advanced in years without the blessing of little feet running around. In Genesis 15, God began maturing Abraham’s faith by revealing that he would indeed become a father to a son. “And Abraham believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of His faith.”6 Then in Genesis 17, 13 years had passed, and Abraham is now 99 years old, God reconfirms His promise that Sarah will be blessed by God and she will give Abraham a son; see verse 16.
In Genesis 18, three men sent by God visited Abraham and Sarah and once more, reconfirmed God’s promise that “about this time next year your wife will have a son!”10 By this time, Abraham and Sarah must have had a hard time believing God. When Sarah heard the news, she laughed and said, “Can an old woman like me have a baby?” (See verses 13-15)

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”14
And this right here is why God allows for you to abide with Jesus in the field of waiting. Without His perfect protocol, you would live life in your own way and receive your own glory. Who needs God? God takes every one of His children on a journey where your faith must develop and mature before He gives you His blessings so He will receive all glory.
Fast forward to Genesis 22 and see how Abraham’s faith is tested again. He did receive fruition from God by Sarah having Isaac. But now, God asks Abraham to sacrifice his only son. Pay attention to how Abraham responds to God. Even in what seems completely absurd, Abraham follows orders. He believes without any reservation! He trusts without any hesitation! In verse 5, look what Abraham says, “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told his servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.” God asked him to sacrifice his only son whom he waited years for, who was born from two people way beyond in child-bearing years.
In that what had to seem like an absurd thing to follow, Abraham trusted God! How? He kept God’s word in his heart. He remembered what God told him years prior, and he chose to believe. He kept his faith up front and strong. Isaac carried the wood for the fire upon his shoulders, he questioned his dad, “Where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”7 Abraham answered, “God will provide a sheep.”8 And God did.
Has God told you something of your future where now you are waiting on it? Keep trusting and believing what God has shown you, even if it seems absurd. He will bring His promises to fruition. He is 100% trustworthy and He will never leave you.
God develops every believer’s faith just like he did with Abraham. Why? In verse 16 you see the answer. “This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed Me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that I will certainly bless you.” You are called to let go (of everything) and let God (lead).
Let go and let God.
Faith always go before fruition. In God’s testing, He is helping you to mature in seeing Him in all things. He is changing your viewpoint from a worldly view to a godly one. He wants you to know without any reservation that all you need is God and He will show up for you every time. Stay in His Word and keep your heart set on Him!
