The USA Is Not Feeling Well

We all dream of a perfect world. One day it will take place, but until Jesus returns to correct what sin has destroyed, our days are filled with strife. Currently, the strife has taken a dark turn. People are unable to distinguish between good and evil. Take the United States for example, how has such a vibrant country where cultures have come together for the past 250 years, is now suffering with a cancer that is spreading at an alarming rate?

What kind of cancer, you might be thinking? It’s the most vile kind, its the cancer of unbelief.

When people choose to not believe truth, they become blind and they live their lives in direct opposition to God. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” The United States is not feeling well due to unbelief, both inside and outside the Church.

Entitlement, comfort, and greed have taken over the lives of Americans. It’s like we have become infatuated with a McDonald’s diet of Big Macs and fries and wonder why we don’t feel well. We know that fruits, vegetables, and lean protein help in functioning well, but we choose convenience over taking the time to eat well so we can function properly. We choose what is popular over what is essential. Our eyes are upon ourselves rather than on God. We have forgotten what is good and have embraced evil.

Are you willing to do your part in healing our country?

What is the remedy to stop this cancer? It’s not popular (it never has been) but it’s what God calls us to so the strife can cease. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “Then, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” Acts 17:30 says, “God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now He commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to Him.” Proverbs 28:13 says, “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.”

If our country is going to be healed, God needs to do a work within the hearts of Americans. A work that will give discernment in these dark days of evil. Evil is gaining ground, yet we have the resource to shut it down. His name is Jesus; the Conqueror of death and the power of evil. Just saying His name causes evil to dispel itself. It cannot stand up to Truth.

Colossians 2:13-15 says, “You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then, God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, He disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross.” When we follow Jesus, a transformation takes place that is unlike no other.

God unites people from all walks of life. The United States is a perfect example of this unity. Over 250 years ago, a group of people believed that they could experience freedom, freedom that God offers, and people took a risk and set sail on boats to a new land which we know as the United States. It has been good, God has blessed it, and people prospered. Unfortunately, evil has invaded. It has been for a very long time.

The simmering of sin in small doses has blinded people through the years. Prosperity has dulled the senses of Americans. It’s time to wake up. We need to live with an urgency for truth to prevail. We need to live where God has opened our eyes to what is taking place. We need His discernment lest we fall prey to the enemy; see 1 John 4:1, 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, 1 Peter 5:8.

Pray for the United States. What a travesty it would be for the United States to become other than the great country under God. Remember 1 John 4:4-5, “But you belong to God. You have already won the a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. Those people belong to the world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint and the world listens to them.” We have the privilege of voting in elected officials who govern our land. It is imperative that we vote in those who will stand up for godly principles, for its the foundation for all societies.
