One’s mind can’t fully comprehend what takes place within a repentant heart that seeks Jesus Christ. God resurrecting His Son is mind-blowing, to say the least. If we could only grab hold of all that took place in the heavenly realms that first Easter weekend, we would live differently.
In 1 Corinthians 15:35-58, Paul helps the believers in Corinth to understand the miracle behind the resurrection. Keep in mind as you read this passage that God is behind every detail of every activity taking place. In this season of springtime, Paul’s story is very fitting.
Paul talks about a seed being planted in the ground. Are you planting anything in a garden? The seed must die first in the darkness so it can grow into what God says it will be. God gives the seed a new body; the one He wants it to have.

When you repent of your sins and turn to walk in newness of life that God wants to give you, your spirit is planted in the ground for you to die to your sins. The miracle comes from God where He will raise you to live forever with Him one day. You are buried in brokenness, yet raised in glory; buried in weakness, yet raised in strength; buried naturally, yet raised with spiritual bodies; see verses 42-44.
God is amazing, isn’t He?
God sends His only Son to earth to become human and take our sins upon Himself. Why? Because we need saving. Sin separates good from evil. Sin entered the world through the first man, Adam, so God gave sinful man Christ who is the last Adam. What makes Jesus able to remove our sins and help us to enter back into a relationship with God?
Christ’s shed blood for He is the life-giving Spirit.
“Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven.”47
Our physical bodies are unable to inherit the Kingdom of God. Sin keeps us unable to enter into such a wonderful place. We each need a miracle. The miracle is found in Jesus Christ.
Paul shares with believers a wonderful secret. Every believer will be transformed! It will happen in a moment, a blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. Read Isaiah 25:8 and Hosea 13:14 and see how the miracle of the resurrection was prophesied and fulfilled.
“For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.”56-57
As Paul is speaking to believers in Corinth, he is speaking to you and I as well. “Brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”58
Live out the miracle that has taken place within you. Let God move freely in and through you. The Kingdom is moving and growing as it gets ready for redemption day! It’s time to grow into what God has planned for you.
