Every believer has changed their heart and mind from a way that was friendly with the world to becoming friendly with God. A believer cannot be friends with both. God’s plan of redemption is one of choice and sacrifice on a daily basis. Either you live for what the world offers or you live for God’s Son.
God hopes that every person chooses Jesus and learns the ways of walking in sunshine. It is living the new life; a life where God permeates every part of you. It is the life of deep peace. You know that you are complete and whole when you are in the presence of God. There isn’t the need to search any longer, you are home.
Jesus raises every person to new life when they choose to believe and follow Him. What that looks like is detailed in Colossians 3:1-17. There are 10 ways to keeping your faith alive and fresh as you walk in the Lord’s sunshine every day.
- You think new thoughts and see new things as you take hold of heavenly things.
- The things of heaven become priority over the things on earth. You are spiritually alive in Christ now and Jesus will hide you until He is revealed one day to the whole world.
- You are to put to death your sinful ways that lurk within you. It’s time to strip them off!
- You are to put on your new nature and be renewed by God. Learn to know Jesus and become like Him.
- Jesus breaks all the barriers that keep people from walking united in His love. As one body of believers, we know that Christ is all that matters.
- God chose you to become His child. He nudged your soul to receive Christ. You must walk in holiness from now on and clothe yourself with His fruits, His characteristic traits.
- You are to make allowances for the faults of others. You are to forgive, for God forgives your sins.
- You are to clothe yourself with love; His love. Love is what binds believers together in harmony. We are members of one body; His church.
- You are to let peace rule in your heart. Jesus is your peace, thus, you are to follow and obey Him.
- You are called to always be thankful. This is the posture of a heart that moves the hand of God.
Walking in sunshine means you will let the message of Christ fill you up. In this filling, you are called to teach and counsel others so they too can walk in sunshine. Praise the Lord and give Him thanks for every believer is a representative of the Lord Jesus.
